Practice makes perfect – also when it comes to singing. Once you discover this, singing becomes even more fun – and in the Nidaros Boys Choir we love to sing! Moreover, you learn to stay focused and concentrate on exercises – it actually helps you master other activities better too, even at school. Along with the good working atmosphere in our choir this can help develop a better self image.

How do you join

New semester starts in August every year!
Aspirant training takes place at Trondheim school of arts. Registration must be submitted electronically
at: trondheim.kommune.no/kulturskolen -> sang -> guttekoret.
You will hear from us with regards to the time of your first attendance.

Lessons

The Nidaros Boys Choir cooperates with Trondheim Kulturskole (shool of arts) to ensure the proper training of aspirants for the choir. The fee is currently around NOK. 1700,- pr. semester.

Classes start in August and follow the school year.
Lessons last for 45 minutes, and take place in established groups every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
The aspirant period in Nidaros Cathedral Boys Choir normally lasts two years and gives the boys a solid foundation in reading sheet music, singing techniques and choir singing. The Aspirant choir also performs several time during the training period, both alone and together with the main choir. In recent years aspirants have also been a part of a number of grand events in Trondheim.
